Hello fellow artists,
We are in the middle of a Mermaid Swap and I wanted to share my Mermaids with you. When the project started I was so excited, Mermaids are mystical and beautiful, what little girl didn't want to be a Mermaid at some point in her life.
Then I actually had to sit down and create a Mermaid. Hum...this was going to be tricky. With any project I create I think about what I want the end product to be used for. I like to make art that is also functional. But all my mind kept thinking about was a glass bowl with a mermaid sitting on a rock. So I kept thinking and finally came up with a paper doll Mermaid.
I included a pick so she can be put into a plant or flower arrangement. I hope you like her. If you would like the directions and pattern please let me know and I will send you one. Also check back as we will post the other Mermaids we get from our fellow artists in the swap.
Happy crafting,
Ramona

Fellow artists,
Our Mermaid swap has come to an end and I wanted to share with you the photos of the Mermaids I received.
First is a clay mermaid, with colored glitter. The card it came in was done in greens and glitter.

.
Second is an altered card embelished with tin, fabric, stamps and beads. The Mermaid is raised and floats above the card.

Fellow artists,
I received one of my Mermaid Swaps in the mail and it was adorable! A Shrinky Dink Mermaid Window Ornament. If you havent worked with Shrinky Dinks you should!

Ask anyone that knows me and they will tell you I am like a little kid when I play with Shrinky Dinks. From party favors to lapel pins, I love working with Shrinky Dinks. They are so versitile. Now you can print pictures from your computer right onto the Shrinky Dinks. You can manipulate any photo by adding crowns, flowers, wings etc., then print. Wonderful!
Below are pictures of past Shrinky Dinks I have done. One was for a Girl Scout Swap the second one is a photo I manipulated and added wings and a flower. Think of all the pictures you could alter then print right onto the Shrinky Dinks, then add to your altered projects.
